“Dreamers” is born out of my experiences of working with Soulymane and Ibhraim as they went through their naturalisation process in France.

I became frustrated with the term migrants as a way of isolating and belittling a section of humanity. I wanted to create a series of portraits that forced people to engage with the individuals and then follow up by documenting the experiences of 5 asylum seekers while integrating into a new country. I was particularly interested to see how they maintained their identity. Unfortunately, Covid forced the second half of the project to be postponed, but here you can find some of the initial portraits.
